NEW CLASSIC F3 SERIES FOR 2027 23 SEPTEMBER 2026: HSCC OFFICE

Following the great success of this year’s 40th Anniversary ‘Marcus Pye Trophy, at Castle Combe smiling competitors were asking for more.

The Classic F3 Association and the HSCC have put their heads together and are now launching a new series for these evocative cars in 2027. Taking in prestige meetings at Donington Park, Legends of Brands Hatch Superprix on the iconic GP circuit and the Oulton Park Gold Cup competitors will compete for the ‘CF3 Triple Crown’.

 Speaking for the CF3 Association Hugh Price said; “We are very excited by the prospects for this new venture. We already have CF3 members queuing up to race. An early expression of interest has come from HP Tyres boss John Pearson. He has bought the ex-Brundle Ralt and plans to be out in 2027. He even has thoughts of putting Martin’s son Alex in the car.”

 Alongside F3 cars the Association sees an opportunity for establishing a CFF2000 element to support CF3 in the coming seasons. Hugh’s colleague Bruce Balchin says; “we had Steven Connor and Geoff Pashley with us at Combe and they had a great time.

We plan to build CFF2000 to cater for the cars that aren’t eligible for the current HFF2000 championship. For years the URS series had good grids of the early 80’s cars especially the Van Diemen RF81’s and RF82’s. Bolster this with the addition of later cars that ran until the demise of British FF2000 in 1989 and we think we can build a big group running with our CF3 .”

Speaking for the HSCC, CEO Andy Dee Crowne said;

“It’s fantastic to have this agreed and over the line, and I’m genuinely excited about what we can achieve together. I’m delighted that we’re working together on this. The Triple Crown is a fantastic initiative and I really hope we can help give it the profile, success and results it deserves.”
